Seagull Workshop

This pursuit of excellence is a continuous process. Seagullites across functions undergo rigorous training and reskilling through various workshops, seminars, learning sessions and in-house training. Regular training happens at IIM-A, Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and North Point Training Centre, Lonavla.

The workshops and sessions deal with wide ranging subjects – Internet, mobile and Search Engine marketing, brand management, marketing, creative thinking and mind mapping, Seagull process for creating effective ads, getting into the leadership zone, soft skills clinic, Seagull brand and advertising system training, 3D advertising and Meme, among others.

Seagull goes to the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM A)

It was back to school for Seagull’s 3-member team, that went to the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM A) from 27 th to 29 th May 2009 for the workshop, ‘Customer Based Business Strategy’, alongwith participants from diverse sectors, such as banking, construction, automobiles, research and consulting.

The participants were taken through three case studies, where they were put in the CEO’s seat and had to make business decisions for issues involved.

The workshop was conducted by an impressive team of Rama Bijapurkar, Prof. Abhinandan Jain, and Prof. Dixit. Bijapurkar is an IIM alumnus, one of India's most respected thought leaders on market strategy, and serves as on the boards of several prestigious companies. Prof. Jain is the resident professor for Marketing and has authored many a book on the subject. Prof. Dixit, resident professor for Business Strategy, is involved in planning and developing business strategies for many companies. These illustrious individuals shed useful light on market segmentation, the need for products being customer-centric, the criticality of infrastructure, and dynamics of a business strategy. The Seagull team came home with a clear understanding of how business solutions always need to be arrived at by thinking not ‘inside-out’, but ‘outside-in’.

This is the third time Seagull has taken its people to the IIM A. Seagull believes that a consumer centric approach and the right strategy are the key pivots on which effective advertising and communication can be built. The IIM A association comes from there.


Team Seagull learns the ropes of 3D Advertising

Learning, bettering and excelling is a way of life at Seagull. Recently, the entire Seagull team went through the ropes of 3D Advertising in a two-day workshop. The trainer Puneet Bhatnagar took the team through the 3D process divided into three modules: Dream, design and delivery. The workshop covered the first two parts, while the third module of ‘delivery’ will be covered in a sequel shortly.

When asked on how this would help Seagull clients win in these turbulent times, Puneet said, “The main objective of advertisers should not be to shun advertising, but to make their advertising persuasive. It is not the time for carpet bombing but surgical hits, which can only happen when we know the consumer’s desires. 3D Advertising focuses on understanding these desires, then goes on to design the communication to get the best results. The bottomline is that every rupee spent by the advertiser earns the best returns”.
